Project Tectonicus
Project Tectonicus is the planned first "edutainment" game from Gamucatex. Its goal is to successfully educate and entertain students through engaging gameplay and novel teaching techniques. The first planned part of Project Tectonicus will teach players about the Viking Age, and aim to show a historically accurate depiction of this often caricatured people. Gameplay utilises a combination of turn based strategy, city management and digital card game, to provide a unique experience for our intended audience.

As Game Designer, I helped spearhead the design for two of the three key gameplay pillars.
My responsibilities included:
- Concepting, documenting and mocking up new designs
- Mock ups are presented using Adobe Xd, GameMaker Studio, Miro, and Paint
- I worked on features such as city management, turn based strategy and overall campaign structure
- Helping to prioritise features and changes to ensure the most critical aspects are worked on at the right time
- Taking on and providing feedback for in-progress designs and features
- Collaborating with our colleagues on the Art, Programming and History teams to ensure that we're all aligned on expected deliverables
- Leveraging my past production experience to help improve the teams workflow, and provide direction on how to hit key milestones
- Researching, playing and analysing competitors
These are motion mock-ups I created to show potential ways of carrying out certain actions such as building structures, training units, sending out war parties, and assigning villagers to jobs:
