Elite: Dangerous
Elite: Dangerous is a massively multiplayer space simulation game where you can explore, trade, mine, bounty hunt and so much more in a 1:1 recreation of the Milky Way galaxy.
I joined as a graduate game designer with a focus on updates to the live game. This took the form of implementing the "Community Goals" - tasks for players to complete en masse to receive various rewards, as well as miscellaneous updates based on player feedback.
My responsibilities included:
I joined as a graduate game designer with a focus on updates to the live game. This took the form of implementing the "Community Goals" - tasks for players to complete en masse to receive various rewards, as well as miscellaneous updates based on player feedback.
My responsibilities included:
- Ideating and implementing new regular events for the Community Goals
- This included helping come up with the player activity, location, factions involved and the rewards
- This involved working with narrative, server side, QA and production
- Playtesting new events to gauge and balance difficulty and fun factor
- Implementing fixes and updates to miscellaneous areas of the live game based on internal testing and player feedback
- Reviewing live game and feature updates with the rest of design and taking on and actioning feedback
